The Czech Presidency contributed to more effective criminal proceedings in Europe
The Justice and Home Affairs Council led by the Minister of Justice Jiří Pospíšil has achieved a general agreement on the framework decision on prevention and settlement of conflicts of jurisdiction in Luxembourg today.

Minister Pospíšil signed a Convention crucial for international trade on behalf of the European Union
The Minister of Justice Jiří Pospíšil signed The Hague Convention on Choice of Court Agreements of 30 June 2005 on behalf of the European Union under reservation of its future conclusion. This convention will bear a principal benefit for international business. It will change its entire practise and ensure that courts in each of the contracting states will respect agreements and recognise judgments of the particular courts which will be chosen by the businessmen on their own. The Czech Republic and the European Union have hereby joined the USA and other countries.

The Minister of Justice Jiří Pospíšil discusses the justice reform with his Romanian colleague Predoiu in Bucharest
The Minister Jiří Pospíšil is meeting with the Romanian Minister of Justice Cătălin Marian Predoiu and other representatives of the Romanian judiciary today and tomorrow. The main topic of the meeting is the evaluation of the European Commission on the progress of Romania in the area of elimination of insufficiencies in the fields of the justice reform and fight against corruption. The representatives of the Czech Ministry of Justice are also sharing experience with the Czech Presidency and reforms of the Czech legal system with their colleagues.

Ministry of Justice is sharing education experiences with judges from Kyrgzystan
Representatives of the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic presented their methods of education in the justice system to the judges from Kyrgyzstan. Foreign delegation has become acquainted with Czech judicatory by Czech Vice minister for judicial section Vladimír Král, the Head of the Judicial Department Jiří Kocourek, the Director of the Judicial Academy Daniela Kovářová and Vice president of the Judicial union Šárka Hájková.

Video: The e-Justice - Use of Videoconferencing
A short movie was presented at the Informal Meeting of Ministers for Justice and Home Affairs on 16 January 2009 in the Congress Centre of Prague for the first time. Deputies of Member States were consequently set up with the movie at the international conference "e-Justice without barriers" in Prague (17 - 18 February 2009). The main goal of the movie is the propagation of digitising the judicial system.
