Daniela Kovářová, Minister of Justice
Daniela Kovářová graduated from the Law Faculty of the Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Brno (1987). Afterwards she became the articling attorney at the Regional Advocate Association in Pilsen, during the years 1990 - 2008 she was running her own advocate practice in Pilsen.

Daniela Kovářová graduated from the Law Faculty of the Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Brno (1987). Afterwards she became the articling attorney at the Regional Advocate Association in Pilsen, during the years 1990 - 2008 she was running her own advocate practice in Pilsen.
In her law office she specialized in defense in criminal matters, family law, agenda of minors and contractual agenda. In the 90s she started cooperating with the Czech Bar Association, wherein as the Head of Training and Education Department she has been providing training for 3000 articling attorneys and lifelong learning for 8000 advocates since 2005. She teaches higher judicial staff the matters of the Bar, advocacy and proceedings´ costs, and since 2002 she has been one of examiners for the Bar Exams and for the criminal-law specialization.
Since the end of 90s she has been active in publishing, she has written tens of expert articles in law magazines, as well as feuilletons and articles in the press. She is the co-author of three publications about advocate's services remuneration and she has compiled a publication of current legal and professional regulations of the Bar.
On May 1st 2008 she was appointed as the Director of the Judicial Academy which is responsible for training of judges, public prosecutors and other employees of the judiciary. Within one year she has stabilized the functionning of the organisation, established partnerships with courts and prosecutions at all levels and initiated cooperation with other legal professions and institutions at home as well as abroad. She has been a member of the Science Council of the Law Faculty of the Palackého University in Olomouc since May 2009.
Daniela Kovářová is married and has two children. She published a book of mysterious and fantasy tales called "Minute Tales" under a nom de plume Ida Sebastiani at the beginning of the year 2008, currently she is finishing her second book. In her free time she likes swimming, skiing and snowboarding, she paints on silk and produces jewellery. She is also a member of Mensa of the Czech Republic.
Daniela Kovářová was appointed as the Minister of Justice and Chairperson of the Government Legislative Council by the President of the Czech Republic on May 8st 2009. She is not a member of any political party.

Video: The e-Justice - Use of Videoconferencing
A short movie was presented at the Informal Meeting of Ministers for Justice and Home Affairs on 16 January 2009 in the Congress Centre of Prague for the first time. Deputies of Member States were consequently set up with the movie at the international conference "e-Justice without barriers" in Prague (17 - 18 February 2009). The main goal of the movie is the propagation of digitising the judicial system.
