In the field of company law CZ PRES will focus on negotiation of the proposal for a Regulation on the Statute for a European Private Company, proposal for a directive amending First and the Eleventh Company law Directives as regards publication and translation obligations of certain types of companies and proposal for directive simplifying the Third and the Sixth Company law Directives.

The proposal for a Regulation on the Statute for a European Private Company was designed to serve for the purposes of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), especially to encourage their competitiveness and commercial activities in other Member States. The proposal for a Statute for an SPE is adapted to the specific needs of SMEs. It allows entrepreneurs to set up an SPE following the same simple and flexible company law provisions across the Member States.

Proposal for simplification of the Third and the Sixth Directive aims to simplify a number of detailed reporting that companies involved in a merger/division have to comply with and which impose considerable costs on them. A significant contribution of this proposal is to supply the Members states and the companies with a wider flexibility to decide which reports are really necessary for them.
